Chrysler East Building in Manhattan
The CHRYSLER EAST BUILDING next to it's famous big brother. We located over 700 points on the face of the building using a total station with right angle eyepiece and an SMI data collector. Our client, Glassalum International of Miami, fabricated two custom prism brackets that fit snuggly in the corners of the window sashes. These were then placed in selected windowopenings to control the design of the new curtain wall system
3D wireframe building model

We then "lofted" the survey data in 3D AutoCAD and accurately drew the surveyed building plane using 3D line entities. Glassalum's engineers then used this model as the reference frame for their design.

The survey points were then lofted  in 3D AutoCAD and the entities drawn to accurately model the face of the building. This model was then used to "extract" survey data for the curtain wall design team.

Ramada Renaissance Hotel, Atlantic City, NJ

RAMADA RENAISSANCE HOTEL
Atlantic City
Objective was to accurately survey the facade of this cast-in-place concrete hotel located on the famous "Boardwalk". Since the windows were all inoperable, we used rappelling techniques to access the building face. Over 350 locations were taken using 2 total stations, data collectors, and survey prisms.
